Thank you to our generous funders, churches, individuals, staff and many volunteers we have partnered with them to serve many children and families in our community. Here are a few of our accomplishments…
During 2015-2016, over 380 children and youth, grades K-12, attended our after-school and summer programs. During these programs, over 9,000 books were read, 63% of our children improved their literacy skills, 84% were promoted to the next grade level and 90% participated in our enrichment activities.
Today, we have many former students that have graduated high school, gained employment and/or attending local colleges and universities. We house two bilingual preschool Head Start classes in our facility during the day, while our K-12 students are at school.
Year round, children participate in several enrichment activities such as mentoring, Asset and Life skills development and awareness and prevention programs. Fitness, gardening, food and nutrition, science, art, drama, dance and soccer club are also offered throughout the year.
Our Neighborhood Service Center provides adults and families translation services, Education & Awareness Programs regarding their child’s education, parenting, health and social services. Referrals are made to partnering agencies to support their basic needs. Last year we assisted over 1,700 individuals through our Neighborhood Service Center.
